Stop Macsnap.net Virus from Popping up

Manual method is always needed to deal with objects like macsnap.net popup that modifies database by force. Here are the steps you may want to follow up:

Step1:  Remove macsnap.net’s startup item
-    Windows7/vista/XP:
Start Menu -> Select ‘Run’ -> type ‘MSCONFIG’ -> System Configuration Pops up

-    Windows 8
Start screen > type 'Task' or 'Task Manager' > Task Manager > click Startup tab

Step2: Show hidden files and folders to delete any components related to macsnap.net popup virus.
- Windows 7/XP/Vista
Open ‘Control Panel’ > search for ‘Folder Options’ > click View tab > tick ‘Show hidden files and folders and non-tick Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)’ > click ‘OK’.

- Windows 8
Start Screen > click on Windows Explorer application > select View tab > tick ‘File name extensions’ and ‘Hidden items’ options.
